Our team at JS Interior Innovations was so excited to work with Faniro Architects and The Public Library of Mahoning County to help coordinate colors, styles and furnishing choices to achieve the mid-century modern/classic look that makes the Michael Kusalaba library truly unique.
The new structure located on Youngstown’s Westside, is 11,815 square feet of books and other conventional materials. The library features a maker space that includes a 3-D printer, button maker, laser engraver and recording studio. It also has a Teen area with video games and lounge modular furniture. The Tech area boasts new computers, height adjustable desks and height adjustable seats. There is a quiet time area with lounge seats so you can sit back and relax and enjoy any reading material, plus so much more.
We are so honored and grateful for this experience with the Public Library and were so happy that we were able to assist in picking out some really unique pieces for this branch. We were able to furnish most areas of the space including, The Community Room, The Adult Fiction Area, The Adult Non-Fiction Area, The Teen Room, both Study Rooms, and The Tech Area(s). The finished project was certainly impressive.
Since its opening, the library has logged more than 3,500 visits, especially from students at nearby schools and patrons getting their library cards, checking out material and using the maker space.
